We, as Funeral Directors at James Ashton, Edward McHugh and Macgregors in Dundee and St. Andrews, make all the necessary funeral arrangements on your behalf including the initial interview either in the comfort of your own home or at one of our comfortable offices. Whether burial or cremation, we obtain all the stutory forms required, pay all disbursements on your behalf, prepare and attend to all documentation including help with DWP claims, arrange obituary notices, arrange floral tributes, book hotels, make all necessary telephone calls and contact the appropriate Minister, Priest, Humanist or Celebrant.

We provide our own fleet of black Mercedes limousines which can each seat up to seven people.

We liaise with the clergy of your choice, or if there is no Church connection we advise on the clergy appropriate to the area where your loved one or relative lived.

We confirm in writing both the funeral arrangements and an estimate of the costs involved prior to the funeral taking place.

We advise whether a claim can be made to the Department of Work and Pensions for help with funeral costs.

We have arrangement rooms and viewing rooms at all our premises. We also have Service Rooms and the facility for organ music, CD or tape music at our Cardean Street, Lochee and St Andrews premises.

We have vast experience on the repatriation of deceased to and from abroad and to and from all parts of the United Kingdom.

The services we offer are comprehensive and are performed to the highest professional standard. We are caring and compassionate funeral directors and endeavour to personalise every funeral arrangement to meet your requirements.

We produce basic complimentary order of service and hymn sheets specially designed for families and can produce detailed order of service on request.

We can also arrange for CD music to be played at Churches, Crematorium and Cemeteries with the CD being made available to us the day prior to the funeral.

Should your chosen funeral arrangement be cremation an option exists in Barnhill, Balgay or Birkhill Cemeteries to purchase a lair of ground that is solely for the purpose of interring Cremated Remains. Each lair can have a maximum of four Cremated Remains interred in it.

We can introduce you to a monumental sculptor who can advise on new gravestones, add names to existing stones and carry out repairs to and clean existing stones.

We have for the exclusive use of our clients our own funeral prepayment plans. Our main brochure can be obtained from any of our offices or should you wish we will post a brochure to your home address. You can request a brochure by completing the contact us page of this website.
